Dharamshala trip: Tibetan food
After eating at 4-5 places I got some (I would not say major at this point, but still) insights about Tibetan cuisine. The latter includes lots of noodle dishes (with vegetables, tofu and/or meat), thanthuk (soup with big pieces of dough (square pieces of pasta), vegetables, tofu etc), Tibetan-sort-of-semi-backed bread of funny shape,
brown Tibetan bread that goes well with honey, cheese and seems to be the best for breakfast along with a cup of butter milk tea (traditional Indian chai with butter added)... unleavened flat cakes for 3 Rs a piece... and of course momos sold at every corner… momos (along with chai) were really making our day and we all kept consuming huge amounts of those… Momos look like small sacks made of batter tightly tied up at the neck… they could be stuffed with potatoes, spinach and… meat... mostly sold steamed and less frequently – fried… Quite unleavened on its own right, but served with red chili sauce with is very-very red chili… 10 Rs for 5 pieces… Yummmm
