Arriva!
that's terrific on its own right: I am sitting here in front of the computer in one amazingly hospitable houses of India. I am taken great care of. I am shown around. I am given great food. and more...
Arrived last last night. Took a flight with Aeroflot along with passangers of all kinds on nationalities. Russians going for vacation, Indian families going home, Scandinavians going for their many-month backpacking there.. The feeling of India as an ultimate magnet for many got even stronger in the airport when I was queing to the custom check. All kinds of people with obviously all kinds of aspirations keep arriving here.
With my mind open I still kept in mind words of caution nicely given by some of those already visited the country... Did not find anything scary yet. After the custom I picked up my luggage and was heading to the arrival hall. What I really did not expect to see was a huge... I am telling you... huge crowd of people with signs... those picking up someone, those offering taxi, those... was like a huge catwalk... me walking between two lines of those waiting... my eyes are scrolling along the signs.. I am very hoping to see my name on one of those.. I am nearly approaching the end of the crowd... and... what happens if i do not see my name?... "OLGA. AIESEC".. and Anoop with his sister Nivanthee are here to pick me up. I am getting flowers - two roses decorated with some tiny white flowers. The taxi is already arranged (great relief) and I am changing my money.
We are leaving the airport and come into the very thick reddish fog. I've never seen anything like that. It's about 12 C, I wear shirt and do not freeze... We are getting into the car, the guys say it's gonna be quite a drive through such a fog and just after that I realize the whole situation... But the driver must have been really knowing how to go about it as Anoop, Nivanthee and me were chatting all the way and we got to the place without any troubles.
Anoop is in AIESEC in Delhi University, he is 22 and already doing his MBA (seems that Russians and Indians share this attitute - study while young). His sister Nivanthee is studing psycology. They both play chess at National and International level. What is more... Anoop is practicing meditation and his teacher comes from...pam.pa.dam.. Noway... What a connection we've got here!...
